State Club Presidents held a breakfast meeting Sat, with emphasis on getting out the women voters in Nov. Sharon Grosfeld from the DNC was the moderator
Presidents luncheon featured Valerie Plame Wilson as the Speaker and she gave a very inspirational talk on civil liberties and constitutional rights.
Afternoon workshops included Communication - Creation of laws - And lobbyist effect on Health Care legislation
Evening trip to the Balloon Park where we were joined by Chelsea Clinton and the Young Democrats
Sat meeting included Regional meetings and Award Ceremonies Past President Barbara Mansfield won the Service Award and 2 internship awards were given to young women to work at the DNC
workshops included -Who is the DNC? -Your money and your life
Elections were held for our represenatives to the DNC Virge Rollins of D.C and Ruby Rudy from Pennsylvania along with Pres Helen Knetzner were elected.
Committee persons were elected for 2009 and myself along with Caroline Wilkins will represent the Western Region on the nominating committee
Sunday was our goodbye brunch with Marie Sedillo Western Regional Director bidding us vaya con dios and an invitation to the next convention which will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico
